The CT 54 was designed by Robert Perry (originally to be marketed as the Hans Christian 54) and built by Ta Chaio Shipbuilding Co. in Taiwan in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. During this era there were many high-quality yachts built in the Far East under American supervision and Ariel is no exception, originally being ordered by a wealthy Doctor with no expense spared. This yacht has always been cared for and maintained to a very high standard, and with everything included in the continues re-fit (see full specs) we believe she must be the best example on the market.
Ariel is an extremely comfortable boat to live aboard, very spacious even by the standards of a 54-footer. She is also very capable and seaworthy with a large powerful rig and sheltered cockpit making long blue-water passages a pleasure. Unique features such as the sweeping companionway stairs, proper walk-in workshop, generous sized bath, separate shower and large, impressive galley all add to the ‘wow’ factor, and inspire the viewer to sail off over the horizon right away!
Only very rarely does a yacht of this type come on the market so soon after such a large amount has been spent improving her, and we thoroughly recommend that anyone considering a 50 to 70 foot world-class cruising boat should come and look at her.
