Description

One of the world’s most popular sailing yachts, built for comfort and performance under sail, the Catalina 42 (mkII) provides the best of both worlds for cruising sailors.

“Brio” features a long horizontal skeg for sure tracking under sail, with an large, elliptical and balanced rudder for good control in all conditions. The hull is high volume, terminating in a modified reverse transom with a step-down boarding platform and swim ladder for easy water access. Designed for short-handed sailing, all halyards, mainsheet and single-line main reefing controls are led to the cockpit and placed for use under the dodger for operation in all weather conditions.

Accommodations

The Catalina 42 features the very popular 2-cabin layout with LED lighting throughout and solar-powered vents.

Accommodations include two heads, one with a shower, vanity with molded sink, and storage located forward of the Pullman berth. Second head located on starboard side with privacy door, and separate door leading to the aft cabin.

Pullman berth has added cabinetry above the bed and two magazine/book racks. Two large drawers under the bed are deep and easy to access.

Aft cabin/stateroom features a double bed with lots of cabinetry above the hanging locker and drawers.

The port-side galley is equipped with a Force 10 3-burner stainless steel stove and oven, fridge and freezer. Settee area is also port-side with added cabinets above as well as a large hanging locker. Starboard you will find the side charting table and a comfortable sitting area.
